On Monday, April 1, Myrle Jennings Saunders Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandparent, and great grandparent, passed away. He was eighty-two. Myrle was a decorated Army veteran who earned a Purple Heart in Vietnam; serving his country for 20 years. He was a dedicated husband to Helga for 55 years. He is survived by his two children, nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Since Helga’s passing in 2018, Myrle lived with his son and family in Nebraska where he was embraced into their lives. He lived a full life right until the end. He traveled to New York City on 30 March to enjoy a weekend with his daughter and her family.
The Memorial will take place on April 29th at 11:30AM at John A. Gentleman Mortuaries Bellevue Chapel. The Interment will follow at 1:30PM. He will be laid to rest with his wife at the Omaha National Cemetery in Omaha, Nebraska. Donations may be directed to the memorial fund:
