Nathan H. Locher

September 13, 1990 — January 18, 2024

Omaha, NE

Nathan (“Nate”) Henry Locher was born September 13, 1990 to Joni (Zich) Locher and Thomas Locher, in Omaha, Nebraska. He attended St. Philip Neri School and Roncalli Catholic High School where he graduated in 2009. He participated in football, basketball, track, and theatre. In December 2023, he graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with his degree in multidisciplinary studies, an accomplishment he worked hard for many years to achieve.

Nate loved to laugh and tell jokes. His humorous and compassionate personality attracted many friends over the years. He was proud to be a cancer survivor after a hard-fought battle against leukemia. He enjoyed music of all kinds, particularly live concerts and festivals. He frequently tried new foods and could critique almost any restaurant or dish in Omaha. He collected sneakers, mostly Nikes, and kept them meticulously clean. He had a green thumb and grew a variety of different plants. He loved his dog, Lito, with whom he was inseparable. He loved spending time with his family, and deeply missed his grandparents and father who preceded him in death. He was a wonderful uncle and immensely loved his three nephews, and always brought them the perfect gifts. He had many dreams for the future.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Esther and Simon Locher, Donna Wackerhagen, and Henry and Josephine Zich; father, Thomas Locher; and infant brothers, Zachary and John.

He is survived by his mother, Joni Locher; sisters, Amy Locher (Brian Lueke) and Esther Paine (Andrew); nephews, Sidney Paine, Louis Paine, and Axel Lueke; aunts, uncles, cousins; and dog, Lito.
