Neal Harold North, Jr.

Neal Harold North, Jr., 89, died peacefully in his home in Omaha, NE, surrounded by family and friends, on July 20, 2022. Neal was ill for some time, but diagnosed with ALS in January of 2022. He was born on June 21, 1933 in Abington, MA.



A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 10:00AM at Sunset Hills Baptist Church, 9416 Pacific St in Omaha, NE, (limited parking - carpooling encouraged), followed by interment at West Lawn Cemetery.

Neal was preceded in death by his parents, Neal Harold North, Sr. and Ina Phillips North; his first wife of 45 years, Joyce Rapp North; baby daughter, Cheryl; and two brothers, Norman and John.



He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Dot) North (married on July 25, 2015); two sons – David North (Tricia) and their two sons, Casey and Cody – all of Winside, NE; Mike North of Green, KS (Heather & son, Chase); Dot’s children – son Jason Shald (Anna) of Omaha and their two sons Augie of Lincoln and Charlie of Omaha; daughter Temple Rucker, MD (Scott) and their two sons, Davin and Braylon – all of Council Bluffs, IA; and daughter Sharon Shald of Omaha; and Neal’s brother, Dr. Robert W North, Sr. (Dottie) of Marshfield, MA



Memorials may be made to any or all of the following: ALS in the Heartland; ALS Association, Mid- America Chapter; Sunset Hills Baptist Church; or any of the several Veteran’s Organizations.
