Pamela (Pam) Maurine McGuire was born in Estherville, Iowa on January 15, 1944 to the Reverand Donald and Flavia Haviland. She was the little sister of Francis and older sister of CeLora.
After spending her early childhood in Beatrice, NE her family
moved to Omaha. Pam graduated from Brownell Talbot High School and then attended Hastings College. Following college she went on to become a teacher, starting her career at John F. Kennedy High School in Bloomington, MN. Pam eventually returned to Omaha and taught at Papillion-LaVista High School and continued her education, receiving her Masters degree from UNO.
Pamela met Patrick McGuire through her sister, CeLora Haviland in Pat’s hometown of Wisner, NE. They were married by her father at Saint Andrews on November 29, 1975 and were blessed with four children.
Pat and Pam raised their family in Ralston, NE and were very involved in their childrens’ activities. Pam continued teaching anthropology and history at Papillion LaVista HS for 27 years where she touched the lives of so many, many of which made sure to tell her whenever they saw her out and about around town.
Pam loved her time with family, especially her seven grandchildren. She loved her dachshunds, spending time reading, and finding antiques,
old radios to restore, and other knick knacks at estate sales.
The family of Pamela McGuire are truly grateful for the many prayers and acts of kindness during this time.
