Pauline Hansen was a sweet shy child who loved to read. She grew up in the late thirties and forty’s. Managed her situations of 10 placements, from age 2 to marriage, in foster homes and or children's homes until marriage. Pauline was a student in the Omaha Public schools of Monmouth, Rose Hill and Benson high school. She was in the French club, Art club, Cottontail, Jeans and ABC Revue.
She married in 1957 to Jack Burke. 5 children were born in 7 years. Pauline was on bowling leagues at Sky Lane Bowl at the Center Mall. With the kids grown Pauline sought out paid employment. She held positions at Equifax, Cornhusker Casualty and Leisure Inn Motel. She retired in 2002. Pauline was active in her church, Saint Matthew Lutheran. She loved ballroom dancing at Post 1 and is reported to have been a sassy lady.
The shy child with a studder became the mother with a readiness for laughter, a love for ball room dancing, her faith, reading and a tendency toward “sassy” will be sorely missed.
A diagnosis of dementia would take Pauline from us too fast.
