Peter James Brodkey passed away on October 26th at the age of 85. 

 He is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin “Eddie” and Rae Brodkey and wife, Carol Fisher Brodkey. He is survived by his second wife, Nancy McCormick; sister, Susan Cox; children, Steven Brodkey (Michael Wanka), Laura Brodkey (Glenn Scott) and Gail (PJ) Farrell; grandchildren, Sydney Scott and Max Scott; step children, Anne McCormick, Elizabeth McGruder, Karen McCormick, Patricia (Richard) Haury and Daniel (Arlene) Jenkins; step grandchildren, Brandon McGruder, Christopher Reed, Duncan Reed, Olivia Reed, Sydeny McGruder, Sam Haury, Jack Haury, Halla Ahovissi and Sena Ahovissi; step great grandchildren, Maliya McGruder, Brynnley Reed and Caden Reed; and many friends. 

 Peter was born and lived in Omaha for the majority of his life. He was a proud graduate of Central High School and professional banking school. He honorably served in the United States Marine Corp. He owned and operated Nebraska Scientific until he retired. Peter had a genuine love for Omaha and his community. He was an integral member of the Jewish community and was committed to its continued growth and success. Peter loved the Cornhuskers and the Cubs. He was a devoted husband, father and friend. 

 Graveside Service Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 10:00AM at Temple Israel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jewish Family Services 333 S. 132nd St., Omaha, NE 68154.
