Phyllis Marie Seybold Rhodig was born the second child of three children to Leslie Roger and Althea Rose (Dickerson) Seybold August 19, 1930 on a farm south of Wilcox, Franklin Co, NE. Phyllis was baptized June 24, 1945 at Church of Christ at Alma, Harlan, NE. She attended Sunny Plain Grade School District 1-75 of Harlan County. She graduated from Wilcox High School in 1947. Phyllis was employed at the Omaha Cold Storage until her marriage to Arlyn Robert Golter September 18, 1949 at Pleasant View church south of Wilcox. They lived on the Golter farm until Arlyn was inducted into the U. S. Army in 1952. She continued to live on the farm until he was killed in action February 19, 1953. She was confirmed at St John Lutheran Church South of Wilcox, NE on April 6, 1950. She moved to Lincoln and worked for Union Nation Insurance Company.
On August 21, 1954, she married Eldon Howard Rhodig of Alma, Harlan, NE in Lincoln, Nebraska. The couple moved to Omaha, NE because of his employment. To this union, two sons were born Allen LeRoy and Brian Steven. She was employed at the offices of Dr. Gusdtafson and Fitzgerald, Dillion serum Company and Nu-Trend Mobil Homes. After retiring in 1993, she worked on family genealogy and enjoyed bowling. Phyllis was a charter member of Lutheran Church of the Atonement.
Phyllis was known as the Flower Lady because of her gardening. She wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty.
Preceded in death by husband, Eldon Rhodig; son, Allen Rhodig; grandson, Ethan Rhodig.
Survived by son, Brian (Lori Anderson Rhodig) Rhodig; grandchildren, Josh, Jacob, Ben and Nicholas; great grandson, Blaize; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
