Ramiro "Frank," Azevedo

Ramiro “Frank” Azevedo, 93, died peacefully Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Remington Heights Assisted Living Facility among family.



He leaves his daughter-in-law, Karen Azevedo; his grandchildren, Neil Azevedo, Michael Azevedo and wife Jodi, and Stephen Azevedo and wife Allyson Gibbs; and great-grandchildren, Myles, Owen, Olivia, Brooklyn, William and Cosmo.



Frank was born in Newark, NJ and raised in Newark and Portugal. He served his country in Europe and Africa during WWII. After owning a deli in Newark for a number of years, he retired in 1986 from managing one for a regional supermarket chain, Kings. After retiring he moved from New Jersey to Omaha, Nebraska and took wonderful care of his wife who died of cancer a couple of years later. He enjoyed taking care of his lawn, playing pinochle with family, making meatball subs for friends, watching sports and gambling at the dog track twice a week.



He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn and his son, Bill.



Visitation 6-8pm with a wake service at 8pm Sunday, March 20 at John A. Gentleman Mortuaries 72nd Street Chapel. Funeral Mass 10am, Monday, March 21 at Christ the King Parish, 654 S 86th Street followed by burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation:

6:00 to 8:00 PM with a wake service at 8:00 PM Sunday, March 20, 2016 at John A. Gentleman Mortuaries, 1010 N 72nd Street.
