Richard (“Dick”) Kyriss was born October 10th, 1937, in Spencer, Nebraska. After graduation from Butte High School, Dick spent three years in the Army, stationed in Okinawa, Japan. After his discharge, he moved to Omaha, where he worked at Western Electric as a cable plant operator for more than 40 years making telephone copper wire and fiber optic cable. After retirement he lived in south Omaha and La Vista, where he enjoyed watching sports and following politics. He was preceded in death by his parents, August Kyriss and Laura Hoffman, and his first wife, Penny Judds. He is survived by his brother Robert Kyriss of Omaha; son Mark Kyriss of Bellevue, his wife Julie and their children, Matthew and Laura; daughter Connie Fairchild of Papillion, her husband Keith and their children, Triston and MacKenzie, and one great-grandchild, Kylen; and his second wife Janette Kyriss of Papillion.
