Robert H. Smejkal

Robert H. Smejkal 96 of Omaha Ne. Passed away June 4th, 2022 with his beloved wife by his side.



Robert (Bob) was born August 20th, 1925 in Crete Ne. He enlisted in the Marine Corps at age 17 to proudly serve his country during WWII. Upon leaving the military he went to work for Fairmont Foods Company for the next 38 years. During these years and retirement Bob loved working in his yard and garden, reading history books, fishing and watching Nebraska Football, but most of all he loved his three girls.



With his great sense of humor and kind gentle nature he was known to hand feed the birds, bunnies and squirrels that would come up to him in the yard. He would even shovel paths in the deep snow so all of his little friends could get to their food. He was their hero and ours. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.



Robert is survived by Barbara his wife of 59 years, daughters Catherine (John) Mackey and Susan (Dan Carr) Smejkal, grandsons Matthew and Aaron Clark, sister Catherine Shafer, his extended family and many close friends.





Memorial Mass Saturday, 10:30 at St. Bernard Catholic Church.



Memorial Visitation with the family Saturday, one hour prior to the Memorial Mass.
