Robert V. Miller, a devoted family man, community servant, and lifelong steward of the land, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was 84 years old.
Born on September 15, 1940, in Ewing, NE. Robert grew up with a love for farming, family, and faith that guided him throughout his life. He married the love of his life, Coreen Craven, and together they celebrated 63 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and service.
A devout member of St. Bernard’s Parish, Robert lived his faith actively through his involvement with the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Christian Family Movement. He and Coreen worked tirelessly to support their community, dedicating countless hours to food pantry efforts and financial assistance programs for those in need
Robert was a man of many passions. He found joy in maintaining his family farm in Holt County, where he cultivated both the land and a legacy of hard work. He was especially proud of his heirloom tomatoes, which were as renowned as his generous spirit. His love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies, including gardening, fishing, camping, and traveling with Coreen.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Coreen, his children and their spouses, Michael (Jean), Joseph (Lori), Ann (Don Granlund), Deanna (Craig Johansen), and Stephen (Kate), his grandchildren Traci (Scott), Andrew, Justin (Hannah), Danelle (Justin), Donny, Luke (Grace), Elizabeth, and Christina, and his great grandchildren, Amarra, Leia, Malakai, Gordon, Brooks, Eleanor, and Anastasia.
Robert will be remembered for his unwavering faith, love for his family, and commitment to helping others. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched through his kindness and generosity.
Visitation will be on Dec 9 from 5 - 7 with a prayer service at 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Bernard’s Church on Dec 10 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a luncheon at the school and then interment at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Bernard’s St. Vincent de Paul Society or St. Bernard’s Church in Robert’s honor.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
