Ronald J. Sobon
June 21, 1936 – August 21, 2021
Ronald was born in Elyria, NE to James and Anna Sobon. He began his teaching career in Fullerton before being drafted into the US Army. After his military service, he continued his career in education teaching secondary school for over 30 years in McCook and Bellevue. Ron enjoyed University of Nebraska sports, fishing, hunting and photography.
Survived by wife, Mary Ann; sister, Jeanette (Richard) Armstrong; sister-in-law, Roberta (Robert) Wilson; brothers-in-law, Stanley (Patricia), C. Edward (Janet), and Robert (Barbara) Youngberg; loving nephews and nieces: Joel Armstrong, Britt Wilson, LeAnn Henenberg, Robyn Jennings, Trevor Youngberg, Nathan Youngberg, Sonja Youngberg, Elise Vaughan, Gesyka Youngberg and Aaron Youngberg; many grand nephews and nieces, extended relatives and dear friends.
Funeral Service on Saturday, August 28 at 11:00 a.m. at First Covenant Church of Omaha, 201 N. 90th Street, with the visitation preceding the service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will occur at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Open Door Mission, World Vision, or University of Nebraska Emergency Assistance Fund.
