In loving memory of Scott Richard Adkins, born August 16, 1962 in Omaha, NE, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on August 22, 2024.
Son to JoAnne (Oetting) Adkins and Dr. Nathan R. Adkins. He attended Westside High School, Class of 1980, where he excelled in scholastics, graduating with honors in academia and music. Scott continued his secondary education at the University of Nebraska, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Broadcasting and Journalism. An avid music-lover and musician (trumpet, piano and guitar), he dedicated his service as Drum Major to the Cornhusker Marching Band and was a diehard football fan to the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
In his spare time, he loved spending time with loved ones in nature (especially the Rockies)—either golfing, skiing, or hiking—and listening to music; he had a big heart and was fun-loving, with a great sense of humor—always making his friends and family laugh.
Loving husband to Kathy (Vais) Adkins, loving father to Natalie Grace Adkins and doggy dad to Bear, who he loved as a second child. Survived by his sisters, Julie Shields (Mike) and Suzanne Wingert. A super, fun uncle and godfather to Leah Shields, loving uncle to Guy Elsberg, Nickolas Elsberg and Samuel Wingert.
