Shawn William Watson, 52, of Omaha NE passed away on November 2, 2023 on the Feast of All Souls Day after a hard fought battle, he won the race.
Shawn was born on June 6, 1971 to Terence “Mick” Watson and JoAnn (Venteicher) Watson in Sioux City, IA. After Shawn graduated from Bishop Heelen Catholic High School in 1990, he went on to study economics at Loras College in Dubuque, IA
After graduating with a degree in economics in December of 1994, Shawn made life his own adventure and struck out to Key West, FL with his good friend where they worked at Margaritaville. In 1996, Shawn settled in Omaha, NE and held a variety of jobs in the metro area all of which allowed him to focus on his love of writing.
He would often be seen carrying a notepad and pen wherever he went, jotting down his thoughts or funny anecdotes others would say. Shawn’s love of writing led him to his greatest love, Amy (Lechtenberg) Watson in the winter of 2009 and they quickly became inseparable. Together they would write and dream and eventually all the dreams turned into a business they poured their hearts and faith into, Mo Valley Productions a video services company.
Shawn was an avid sports fan. Rooting for the Chicago Cubs, Denver Broncos and his Notre Dame Fighting Irish and enjoyed getting everyone together to take in a game but Mo Valley Productions was Shawn’s greatest passion. It combined his love for his craft and his family and created a whole new space for him to independently develop new businesses. Mo Valley Productions has quickly become a fixture in the Omaha area.
Shawn’s business may have been his passion but his greatest accomplishment in life was becoming a father to his two children, Monica and James. They are and will forever be his crowning achievement in life.
In a word, Shawn was magnanimous. His generousity of spirit and devout faith drove him in life and in his pursuits personally and professionally. Shawn truly embodied the light of Christ and had a unique ability to bring people of all walks of life together and so many people are blessed to call him friend.
