Shirley A. Metheny

Shirley Ann Metheny passed away peacefully at her home in Papillion, NE on November 18th, 2023. Sam, as she was lovingly called by family and friends, was born on December 15th, 1945. Sam was loved to entertain, especially for Nebraska football games and holidays. For years Sam made everyone feel welcome at her and Jim's Harley Bar at their home on Scott Street in Omaha. Her passion was family, cooking, crocheting, and everything Harley Davidson. Sam and Jim loved taking short excursions on the motorcycle and attended the Sturgis Rally for many years. Many adventures were planned by Sam & Jim until Jim's death in 2008.

Sam was preceded in death by her mother Polly Hosfiel, her brother Terry Bomar, first husband John Madsen, and second husband Jim Metheny. She is survived by her sister Christina Jepson, sons Stacey (Madonna) Madsen, Eric (Sothea) Madsen, two grandsons Brendan Madsen & Camden Madsen and a granddaughter Shelby Madsen, two step grandchildren Ashley Rea and Ryan Malcom and several great grandchildren.

In honor of Sam's wishes there will be no ceremony. Sam will be inurned next to her husband Jim at Forest Lawn Cemetery of Omaha in the presence of family.
