Susan was very involved in the Omaha community. She served on the Board of
Directors of the Omaha Community Playhouse Foundation, the Joslyn Art Museum
Board of Governors, the Community Advisory Board of the Storz Cancer Institute, and
the Board of Trustees of Clarkson Hospital. She was Past President of the Junior
League of Omaha and the Clarkson Service League. She was Chairman of the
Symphony Debutante Ball and of the Clarkson Fashion Production. Susan was the
Queen of Ak-Sar-Ben in 1949.
Her Husband, Ben preceded Susan in death, as did her parents, Mildred and
Robert Storz, and her brother, Todd Storz.
Susan is survived by her children and their spouses: Judy (Curt) Woods of Denver, CO; Bob Howard of Omaha; Diane (Larry) Higgins of Incline Village, NV as well as her grandchildren: Todd (Katie) Howard and Kelly Howard of Dallas, TX; and Trevor (Julie) Woods and Lisa Woods of Denver, CO. Susan is also survived by her niece, Lyn (Tim) Carlyle of Laguna Beach, CA.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Jane Kain, Lisa Ciecior, and all of
Susan’s caregivers for the selfless devotion and loving care they provided to Susan in
the final years of her life.
