Teresa Lynn Gearhart, 53, of Omaha, passed away surrounded by loved ones on September 23, 2024.
Teresa was born on August 7, 1971, in Council Bluffs, IA, to Joanne Driscoll and Richard Richardson. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, then went on to nursing school at Jennie Edmundson School of Nursing. Later on in life, she continued her education at Iowa Western Community College, studying early childhood education. She primarily taught special education, preschool, and kindergarten students at Edison Elementary.
Throughout her life, Teresa battled with Sjogren’s syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, and rheumatoid lung disease, which required her to be on oxygen. Despite these diagnoses, she stayed positive and tried to find the bright side of any situation. Teresa did everything she could to make others around her happy. She loved gift-giving, making sure to get each item on everyone’s wish list. She was the worlds’ best party planner, any kind of party, you name it, she would go above and beyond your wildest imagination. With her there was no going small, it was always go big or go home with her.
Family was everything to Teresa. She loved and cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, especially going to the beach and collecting seashells and stones. She was always working on a new craft. Teresa had many close friendships throughout her life, making new friends everywhere she went, even until the end.
She is survived by her parents: Joanne and Richard; her children: Jessica (Kyle), Tyler (Nikki), Sydney, and Mattie; her grandchildren: Annastella, Brooks, and Brynlee; her former partner: Steve; and his father: Bruce.
Teresa is preceded in death by her grandparents: Betty, Bud, Delores, and Cy; Steve’s mother: Marcella, and Aunt Barb.
