Terrance (Terry) was born in Fordyce, NE to Cletus and Mary Jane (Gilson) Buschelman on February 22, 1951. He graduated from Hartington Cedar Catholic High School (1969), and Mount Marty College (1973) in Yankton, SD. He later earned his master’s degree from Pepperdine University. Terry married Vickie (Lethcoe) on April 27, 1974, and from that union came three children.

Terry proudly served as a commissioned officer in the US Marine Corps, retiring after 25 ½ years at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. His Military Occupational Specialty centered around anti-air / anti-missile warfare which included Surface to Air Weapons Officer, Commanding officer of Surface to Air Weapons detachments, and National Airborne Operations Center (NAOC). He served at various duty stations including Quantico, VA, Pensacola, FL, Yuma, AZ, Ft Bliss, TX, El Toro, CA, Offutt AFB, NE, and Okinawa, Japan. He is a veteran of the Gulf War known as Operation Desert Storm. During his career he received many awards and decorations including the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal with Gold Star, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Air Force Aerial Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal with Gold Star, Kuwait Liberation Medal, and Army Commendation Medal. He also wore the Naval Aviation Observer Insignia, the Joint Chiefs of Staff Badge, Pistol Expert Badge, and Rifle Expert Badge.

He then taught and coached at Mount Michael Benedictine High School in Elkhorn, NE, where he led them to a state soccer championship in 2005. He also taught and coached at Omaha Bryan High School. He was a lifelong fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Green Bay Packers, New York Yankees, Manchester United, and the US National Soccer Teams. He also loved to ski, golf, hunt, and travel. But the greatest joy of his life was spending time with his grandchildren and watching them grow up.

Survived by wife Vickie for 49 years; children Staci (Rich) Dome, Christopher (April) Buschelman, and Kyle (Kathleen) Buschelman; stepdaughter Pamela Fry; grandchildren Brandon, Allison, Brayden, Brianna, Abigail, and Liam; step grandchildren Josh, Cody, and Aspen; step great grandchild Jason; mother Mary Jane Buschelman; siblings Patricia (Gary) Suing, Barry (Cheryl) Buschelman, and Kari Lee (Mark) Kielty; brothers in law Kent (Barbara) Lethcoe, and Mark (Deborah) Lethcoe; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Cletus Buschelman.



Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 11:00AM at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Bellevue, NE. Visitation Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at 5:00-7:00PM, with a Wake Service to follow at 7:00PM at John A. Gentleman Mortuaries Bellevue Chapel.
