Theresa F. Farnan

Theresa Frances Farnan, age 89, was called home on December 4, 2024. Born in Omaha, Nebraska on April 27, 1935, Theresa was the daughter Michael and Elizabeth (Tatara) Szaro.  She was preceded in death by her parents; son Daniel Farnan; husband Robert Farnan; her brothers-in-law David Nelson, Lyle Latimer, and Robert O’Brien, and her sister Mary O’Brien. Her memory is cherished by her sons, William (Susan) and Joseph (Kellie); her sisters and brother, Dorothy Nelson, Helen Latimer, and John (Judy) Szaro; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

 Theresa was a lifelong resident of Omaha. She graduated from St Joseph’s Catholic School and worked for 30 years, until retirement in 1990, at Western Electric. Following her retirement, she loved making her yard beautiful with lush grass and her favorite flowers, and she cherished her roles as mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and dog lover.

The visitation will be held at John A. Gentleman Mortuary, 3402 Samson Way, Bellevue, Nebraska on Tuesday, Dec. 10th from 5-7 PM followed by the rosary at 7 PM. The Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, Dec. 11th at 11 AM at St. Matthew the Evangelist Catholic Church at 12330 S. 36th St., Bellevue, Nebraska. A luncheon will follow at the Parish Hall, and the committal will then be held at Calvary Cemetery in Omaha at 2 PM.
