Thomas G. Guy, 74 passed away in Omaha on Thursday, February 5th. Tom was a renowned marketing executive in Omaha who helped inaugurate growth into franchise companies like Godfather’s Pizza, Merry Maids and Home Instead Senior Care.



Tom was born in Des Moines, Iowa and graduated with his MBA from Denver University in Colorado, where he also met his wife, Letoi. They moved to Omaha in 1971.



Tom’s marketing and advertising skills started in college and continued past retirement. His expertise in building up Omaha-based franchises was unsurpassed. He was president of Ellis & Guy Advertising which effectively built Godfather’s Pizza into one of the nation’s fastest growing pizza chains in the 1970’s and early 80’s. He then became Executive Vice-President of Marketing for another up and coming franchise, Merry Maids which grew into one the fastest growing companies in the 1980’s.



Tom retired in 1989, but still continued sharing his marketing skills. He was a marketing consultant to founder, Paul Hogan, during the initial start-up phase of Home Instead Senior Care here in Omaha where it became the world leader in elder care and one of the fastest growing franchises in the world.



Tom is survived by wife, Letoi Guy of 53 years; son, Adam Scott Guy of Omaha; son and daughter in law, Tally and Cristin Guy of Denver, Colorado, daughter and son in law, Allison and Don Rice; his grandchildren, Alexander Guy, Eric Guy, Abaigeal Guy and Keegan Guy; sister, Lynda Dittmar of St. Augustine, FL.



Services:

Funeral service will be Monday, February 9th at John A Gentleman 72nd St. Chapel at 11:00am. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.



Visitation:

Sunday, February 8th from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at the 72nd St. Chapel.
