Thomas Edward Turgeon

Thomas Edward Turgeon was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Tom left this world peacefully after a brief illness on November 15, 2023. He was 71 years old.

Tom was born to Benedict and Bernice Turgeon on November 19, 1951 in Gregory, South Dakota. He was the eldest of three sons and is survived by his younger brothers Steven (Sherri) and Brent. Tom’s family moved to Butte, NE in 1964 and this quickly became Tom’s hometown.

After leaving the small town of Butte, Tom completed coursework at Wayne State College and went on to pursue a career in the construction trades. During his time in construction, Tom met Beverly and started a family by acquiring her son Christopher. Tom and Bev later had three daughters: Mary (David), Harley and Savannah. Tom is survived by Beverly Sandbothe and all four of his children along with his nephew Chris Turgeon. Tom was also blessed with one granddaughter Clara Clementine Christenson.

Tom loved spending time on his motorcycles along with his classic trucks. He was happiest while enjoying his bikes, trucks and kids. His kids meant everything to him and he loved supporting them in all their activities, whether it be a practice, a concert or games. Tom enjoyed being active in his church, sharing his cooking with family and friends and was an avid fan of Rock and Roll. 

A visitation service is scheduled for 9:30 AM on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at St. Stephen the Martyr Church in Omaha, NE. A funeral liturgy mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Tom will also be honored with a service at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Butte, NE. That service will be held on November 25th and 10:30 AM.
