Timothy McElroy MSW
September 7, 1950 – February 17, 2022
Age 71, of Omaha. Preceded in death by parents Marguerite and Edward McElroy; son Collin; brother Lou and a number of friends. Survived by spouse of 49 years, Karen Mullen McElroy; sons Ian, Michael, and Declan (Erin); sister Patricia Dunn; brothers Jim and Dan.
Tim recognized that his marriage to Karen was the foundation of all aspects of his life. His four sons were a constant source of unfailing pride and enjoyment. Graduated from Creighton Prep (68) and UNO (74 and 76), Tim enjoyed fishing, cooking and social gathering of all types, especially family functions. Tim’s career of Medical Social Work in a variety of settings, gave him a chance to assist people in their time of need along with the opportunity of working alongside a wide spectrum of professionals. Tim’s love of older people was actualized by and through his work in a vast array of medical and social environments. Tim was continually fascinated by the many expressions of human behavior. He often stated, “I have the best life of anyone I know.” Tim was 26 years sober thanks to AA and the grace of God. Thank you to everyone who helped make Tim’s life so beautiful. He is grateful.
