Val Reznicek, 66, passed away on March 17, 2024. She was born on July 23, 1957, in Omaha, NE.
Val is survived by her children Joe Reznicek, Kyle (Janey) Reznicek, and Jen (Shawn) Graalfs. She was a loving grandmother to Erik (10), Kassie (10), Paige (9), Charlee (8), Mathias (6), Tommy (2), and Ben (6 wks).
She was preceded in death by her husband Steve, her parents Dale and Mary Jo, her in-laws Joe and Viola Reznicek, several siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
In addition to being a mother, Val started several of her own successful businesses. She was always a steadfast example of what hard work, toughness and passion for what you do, can accomplish in life. Her children and grandchildren never had to wonder about being loved, they were showered with it every day in Val's presence. Val loved nothing more than spending time with her family. She was “Mumba” to her Grandkids, her favorite title. Her last years were spent living at her daughter's house with 3 of her grandchildren always around. This time was very special and she would always say that she could never have a bad day there, despite the occasional chaos. Her family really was the most important thing in her life and everybody knew it.
Val enjoyed many things including traveling to the beach with her special group of lifelong friends, crafting, spending time outdoors, and cooking her specialties that put a smile on many faces. Her sense of humor, laugh and smile will be missed by all. She was always up for a good time with family and friends; these were always her happiest moments. Whether it was a live concert, a barbecue competition, a soccer game, or a dance recital, Val was always ready to go. Her generous spirit and comforting smile always lit up the room and the memories of those great times will live on forever.
Services for Val will be held on Friday, March 22nd, with visitation from 12 to 1 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1 PM at the John A. Gentleman 72nd St. Chapel. Private interment will take place at West Lawn Hillcrest Cemetery.
May she rest in peace.
