Verdes L. Baucke

October 9, 1937 – January 16, 2023

Verdes graduated from Nebraska City High School and then Peru State College, majoring in Math/Physical ED. He married Sharon Young on December 21, 1958. They had 3 children: Curt Baucke, Jenna Slavik and Tammy (Mark) Witt. He worked for many years as a Math/Computer Science Teacher and as a Computer Analyst at Union Pacific. He always had a ready smile, story or joke. He loved his family, who also loved him so much.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; parents, Werner and Elsie Baucke; 3 brothers and a sister. His legacy continues with his children; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren-with one on the way.

As Verdes would say, “Upward and Onward, keep abreast of Truth.”

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
