Weston was born the second of seven children on April 13, 1933 in Park City, Utah to Lafayette and Rhoda Anderson. He spent his early years in Park City and Wendover, Utah; Harvard and Hastings, Nebraska. He started his career with Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph in Hastings immediately after high school graduation. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1956. He married Mary Gilsdorf in 1959 and they made their home in Hastings and later Fairbury NE. Weston retired from Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph in Fairbury, Nebraska in 1991 after 40 years of service. Wes and Mary moved to Omaha in 2013 to be closer to their grandchildren. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Eagle's Club.
Weston enjoyed traveling, boating, fishing, camping, 4-wheeling, gardening, visiting with family and spending time with and giving advice to his beloved grandchildren. Wes and Mary spent many winters in Arizona after retirement enjoying the weather, exploring and friends. He was a self-taught ‘jack of all trades’ including remodeling houses, auto mechanic and working on the family farm. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. Most of all, he will be remembered for his devotion to his family, near and far, and his sense of humor.
Weston was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary, his son Daniel (Deb) Anderson, daughters Barbara (Kerry) Sudrla and Sheryl Anderson, grandchildren Darrin and William Anderson and Jason, A.J. and Shannon Sudrla. He is also survived by brothers Lafe Anderson, John (Pat) Anderson, Arlynn (Catherine) Anderson, Dwaine (Diane) Anderson and sisters Lynette Anderson, Josephine Anderson and sister-in- law Agnes Archer, numerous and treasured nieces and nephews.
